The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards 2021 was hosted on Sunday, April 4 on a Zoom meeting. It was a one-hour celebration instead of the traditional two-hour plus telecast. The show continued its longstanding tradition of honoring the outstanding performances of the past year with announcements in 13 categories.
Last year, all the SAG Ensemble nominees went on to win Academy Awards, including SAG’s big winner “Parasite,” which took home Best Picture, Director, Original Screenplay, and International Feature for Bong Joon Ho at the Oscars. All the SAG acting winners repeated at the Academy Awards as well — Renée Zellweger (“Judy”), Joaquin Phoenix (“Joker”), Brad Pitt (“Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”), and Laura Dern (“Marriage Story”).
