Actor Erin Moriarty, who is best known for playing the superhero Starlight in Amazon Prime’s The Boys, has declared that she is quitting social networks in response to peculiar claims made by former Fox News star Megyn Kelly that she has an “addiction” to plastic surgery, even though there is no evidence to support such claims.
Furthermore, even if it’s been brief since Megyn Kelly had actual power over anyone, there is something evocative about the thought that she did. Her actual remarks, however, were rather horrible, and Moriarty’s reaction was quite indignant. THR reports that Kelly chose to present Moriarty as a sign of a “social illness” based around plastic surgery during an episode she was doing for her show on January 17. She then made a comparison between an even more current photo of Moriarty and one that was purportedly “recent,” stating of the latter, “I thought, ‘is this an AI-generated face’… but apparently it’s real.”
In her Instagram response, Moriarty called the responses “widespread” and levelled several charges of fraudulent journalism against Kelly. She also retaliated against people who accepted, disseminated, and took action in response to her claims. “You’ve lost the privilege of this account. so, you can believe whatever you want,” she wrote in one of the statements. “But there’s no excuse for these horrific allegations, the verbal abuse that I have had to delete, and the genuinely false information that is being used to perpetrate a message that is exhibitionist feminism. You don’t have to believe me when I say these videos are absolutely false but the way this has been spoken about, the way I have been spoken to, I will not accept.”
