Most individuals are aware that Andrew Garfield lied to a number of people about his involvement in “Spider-Man: No Way Home.”But now he’s admitted to lying to none other than his “Amazing Spider-Man” co-star – and ex-girlfriend – Emma Stone.
“Emma was emailing me and she was like, ‘Are you in this new Spider-Man film?'” Garfield admitted on the “Happy, Sad, Confused” podcast. “I have no idea what you’re talking about!” I said.
With a laugh, he recalled, “She was like, ‘Shut up, just tell me.'” “And, to be honest, I… Even with her, I kept going because it’s amusing. “You’re a jerk!” she exclaimed when she saw it.
“It was such a great feeling to have a surprise party prepared for everyone!” Garfield, a lifelong Spider-Man fan before getting to play him in 2012’s “The Amazing Spider-Man” and 2014’s “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” remarked of the secrecy.
“I can’t deny the fact that it had always been my desire to play that part inside the MCU…” remarked the “tick, tick…Boom” star.
Garfield also discloses that he was the brains behind the “No Way Home” scene, in which all three Spider-Men point at each other, a popular meme. After the bad reception to “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” Garfield stated he felt the affection from “No Way Home” fans and described it as “healing.”
“You have a sense of being recognized and valued… “Man, I’m truly humbled!”
