The film directed by Chris McKay features Chris Pratt as Dan Forester, a high school teacher, and is recruited by a group of time travelers to fight a war in the future. As an alien species threatens life on Earth, the only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to travel to the year 2051 and help save the planet.
Sounds familiar or interesting, you know this is a personal opinion, some people took back to the future so seriously that no matter how complex or interesting the plot is. It’s always some random alien species and a bunch of underdogs against each other.
Now hold on to that thought right there! Dan teams up with his father with whom he has a difficult relationship played by none other than J.K. Simmons and an extraordinary scientist played by Yvonne Strahovski, to rewrite the fate of mankind.
Amazon reportedly paid $200 million for distribution rights to “The Tomorrow War,” which was developed and produced by Skydance Media. Paramount Pictures was originally set to distribute the movie.
“The Tomorrow War” marks McKay’s first venture into directing a sci-fi film. He made his feature directorial debut on “The Lego Batman Movie” in 2017. The film is written by Zach Dean the cast includes Edwin Hodge, Sam Richardson, Betty Gilpin, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Jasmine Mathews, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.
Pratt is a big name in the film, he was shot into stardom by his portrayal of Starlord in Guardians of the Galaxy it seems somehow Pratt fits the description when it comes to Science fiction.
The first look tease from Amazon promises an even more exhilarating story. From the jump, it’s clear that this is going to be an intense movie that pairs classic action with a sci-fi twist
