Mindhunter: David Fincher Reportedly Discussing Season 3 With Netflix

David Fincher’s Netflix psychological thriller is in the conversation yet again. Last year, David had taken to the media and revealed that the saddening truth is that Netflix’s ‘Mindhunter’ was temporarily on hold as there weren’t enough people watching the show as compared to the capital they were pouring into the series. However, at the same time during the end of season two of Mindhunter, he rose the hopes of viewers by saying “At some point, I’d love to revisit it. The hope was to get all the way up to the late ’90s, early 2000’s, hopefully, get all the way up to people knocking on the door at Dennis Rader’s house.”

One of the major setbacks are that the streaming service did release Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany and Anna Torv from their contracts at the beginning of last year when season 2 failed to take shape to the satisfaction of either The Social Network director or the platform’s decision makers. The flame is burning entirely by the fact that Fincher recently signed an exclusive four-year development deal with Netflix.

Fincher admitted that his series did not generate as many views to justify the investments made in the dive of the serial killer world. Despite the low numbers Mindhunter is still largely regarded as one of Netflix’s best-ever original shows. However, a new report says that conversations have taken place behind the scenes about potentially reconsidering the idea of the third run of episodes.

various site took to the internet and said, “It’s been revealed to us by sources close to Netflix that discussions between the streamer and David Fincher for a Mindhunter Season 3 are back on.” Small Screen’s source reportedly told them, “All I can really tell you about Mindhunter is that conversations between Netflix and Fincher are ongoing. They are discussing the possibility of bringing the show back for a third season. Its still very early in the day to claim it but Fincher seems quite thrilled about the onset of the new project.

For now, its best that we hope for the best but things are still very lopsided!
