Kate Winslet addresses women’s urge to change their appearance and the alarming trend of weight-loss medications. The tendency is awful, according to her. For people who are having trouble regulating their blood sugar and losing weight, weight-loss pills, including the GLP-1 receptor agonists Ozempic and Wegovy, have become increasingly popular. But Hollywood actress Kate Winslet is worried about how common drugs are these days.
“It’s puzzling because I have moments when I think it’s better, when I look at actresses at events dressed how they want, whichever shape,” Kate said, describing the reliance of people’s self-esteem on how they look as terrifying and upsetting. However, a lot of people use medicines to lose weight.
“It’s so varied. Some are making choices to be themselves, others do everything they can to not be themselves”, Kate continued.
She also asked those who were using these drugs if they were aware of what they were putting into their bodies. “The disregard for one’s health is terrifying. It bothers me now more than ever. It is f*****g chaos out there.”
Kate also emphasized the beauty of growing older and denounced social media for having a detrimental impact on young people’s mental health. Additionally, she urged ladies to accept their aging process and refrain from using injectables like Botox and fillers to alter their appearance.
She said, “”My favourite thing is when your hands get old. That’s life, in your hands. Some of the most beautiful women I know are over 70, and what upsets me is that young women have no concept of what being beautiful actually is. What idea of perfection are people aspiring to?”
