Hence, the drama continues.  According to recent court documents, Hugh Jackman and Taylor Swift apparently saw Ryan Reynolds accost Justin Baldoni about the way the director treated Blake Lively during filming of It Ends With Us. Unreleased evidence in the continuing legal dispute between Baldoni and Lively was mentioned by People on Thursday, November 27. It is a schedule that Baldoni’s Wayfarer Studios co-founder Jamey Heath allegedly emailed to the director’s spokesperson in July 2024.

On April 25, 2023, Reynolds “unloaded” on Baldoni at his loft apartment in New York City, presumably for inquiring about Lively’s weight. As stated in the court statement, Baldoni claimed to feel “completely embarrassed and apologized and even shared some tears” after the Deadpool star objected to Baldoni “fat-shaming Blake.”

Baldoni’s attorneys said “[The] confrontation by Reynolds and Lively was so aggressive that Baldoni felt he had no choice but to offer repeated (and completely unwarranted) apologies.”

Swift and Jackman, who have been friends with Reynolds and Lively for a long time, were “also present in the [apartment] at the time,” according to the exhibit.

US Weekly has contacted the parties listed in these new court records for comment. Swift came to Lively and Reynolds’ condo unaware of the couple’s plan to meet Baldoni, according to a person close to the matter, as initially reported by TMZ in February.

“Justin was about to leave after the 2-hour meeting as Taylor walked in, and she was introduced to him for the first and only time,” a source told TMZ.

Swift reportedly told Baldoni that she was excited about It Ends With Us “because he was her friend’s boss,” the person claims. In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni alleging sexual harassment, retribution, violation of contract, emotional anguish, invasion of privacy, and lost pay. Baldoni has refuted every accusation made by Lively. He filed a countersuit in January, but it was eventually dismissed.

According to the actress’s lawsuit, “Lively was humiliated to learn that Mr. Baldoni secretly called her fitness trainer without her knowledge or permission, and implied that he wanted her to lose weight in two weeks.” Later, Baldoni’s attorneys retorted that he had just contacted Lively’s trainer because he would need to lift her in a scene from It Ends With Us and that he was concerned about exacerbating a chronic back injury.

Swift has made several attempts to disassociate herself from the lawsuit in the interim. Baldoni’s attorneys earlier released a text message that the director sent to Lively, mentioning Swift in relation to the notorious rooftop scene in It Ends With Us. “Was working on rooftop scene today, I really love what you did. It really does hep [sic] a lot,” he allegedly penned.  “Makes it so much more fun and interesting. (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor). You really are a talent across the board. Really excited nd [sic] grateful to do this together.”

Swift’s representative stated that the singer “never set foot on the set of’ It Ends With Us and that she made no ‘casting or creative decisions’ other than permitting the use of her song ‘My Tears Ricochet” in the movie when Baldoni’s lawyers formally summoned Swift in May.

On May 9, 2025, her representative told Us, “She never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, and she did not score the film.”

Her publicist added, “Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

Judge Lewis J. Liman rejected Team Baldoni’s effort to interrogate Swift during the discovery phase of  Lively’s lawsuit because it would have exceeded the authorized time.

Lively’s attorneys had included Swift and Jackman on a list of potential witnesses. Additionally identified as “likely to have discoverable information” regarding the It Ends With Us controversy were Emily Blunt, Scooter Braun, and Gigi Hadid. Unless the parties reach an agreement before then, Lively and Baldoni’s trial is scheduled to start on March 9, 2026. Lively plans to testify during the trial, according to Lively’s lawyer.
