Dasha Nekrasova, an actress noted for her performances on HBO’s Succession and A24’s Materialists, has been sacked by Gersh following an earlier podcast interview with far-right political speaker Nick Fuentes.
Due to the same podcast, she was cast in The Night Agent (Gabriel Basso), but her contract for the movie was revoked before it was signed. The Fuentes podcast was released on YouTube a month ago, but it wasn’t until a few days ago that it started circulating throughout Hollywood, prompting quick responses to deny remarks that were thought to be extremely harmful.
Deadline has reached out to Nekrasova and her attorney, Mark A. Gochman, for comment and will update if and when a statement from the actress is issued. Uploaded to YouTube, the interview was conducted a month ago as part of Red Scare, a podcast featuring contemporary commentary that Nekrasova and Anna Khachiyan have co-hosted since 2018. “Fuentanyl OD – Nick Fuentes x Red Scare (Dasha Nekrasova and Anna Khachiyan)” is the title of the more than two-and-a-half-hour-long video.
The discussion, which has received 220K views to date, covers a wide range of contentious subjects. The group frequently talks about “international jewellery”, spreading derogatory stereotypes about Jews, Italians, Asians, and other groups. They also make controversial remarks about the Holocaust and immigrants from underdeveloped nations, particularly non-white ones. Fuentes, the conductor of Nekrasova and Khachiyan’s interview, is regarded as the leader of the “Groypers”, a group of youthful right-wing activists with an “America First” philosophy that criticises mainstream liberalism and supports far-right viewpoints.
His most recent national attention came from a harshly criticised appearance on Tucker Carlson’s podcast, when the conservative pundit was chastised for promoting white nationalism on “The Tucker Carlson Show” without the host sufficiently responding.
