The spouses of the (on-screen) Beatles have been located for the film adaptations. Anna Sawai, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Aimee Lou Wood are among the cast of The Beatles—a Four-Film Cinematic Event as the women who made their mark beside the British band, as per the announcement from Sam Mendes.
Sawai will represent John Lennon’s wife, Yoko Ono; McKenna-Bruce will appear as Ringo Starr’s wife, Maureen Cox; and Aimee Lou Wood will embody George Harrison’s wife, Pattie Boyd. Earlier this month, Saoirse Ronan was revealed as Paul McCartney’s wife, Linda McCartney.
Mendes stated, “Maureen, Linda, Yoko and Pattie are four fascinating and unique figures in their own right — and I’m thrilled that we’ve managed to persuade four of the most talented women working in film today to join this amazing adventure.” Each film, which will be released in theatres in April 2028, is going to unfold from the vantage point of each band member. During this year, Mendes announced the four actors who will portray the Beatles: Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, and Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney.
Dickinson, Mescal, Keoghan, and Harrison ascended the podium for an ensemble bow after the major casting news, which was announced at CinemaCon in April. The four-film project, which Sony has dubbed the “first bingeable theatrical experience,” is also a historic event since it is the sole occasion that the Beatles and Apple Corps Ltd., the band’s joint record label, have approved the incorporation of their music and life stories for cinematic documentation.
