A penny for all those who have trouble moving on; Woody Harrelson just declared that he would not be reviving his role in any of the forthcoming seasons of True Detective. Let things die on. Dylan Dreyer questioned Harrelson on Friday’s third hour of NBC’s Today programme about whether he would ever return. She mentioned that his co-star, Matthew McConaughey, who portrayed Detective Rust Cohle in the first season, had recently expressed interest in resurrecting his role
In fact, McConaughey said that if ‘Woody and I think it’s good enough. It wouldn’t even be a choice.” Regarding his current remarks, Dreyer remarked, “He actually said that he would be into it.”
Harrelson retorted, “Matthew is so funny, but in fairness, never. Not a chance.” He continued by stating that he has a particular reason for not wanting to play the same character on True Detective again. “Because it turned out great. I love that it turned out the way it did,” he said. “If anything, doing another season would, I think, tarnish that.”
Although Harrelson and McConaughey may never appear on the stage of True Detective again, they are collaborating on another endeavour that recently faced a roadblock. The two have been cast as leads in the Apple TV original television series Brother from Another Mother, which commenced production a few months ago but was halted to find a new showrunner. However, filming terminated in June, but there is still a beacon of hope for the upcoming series.
HBO has yet to confirm when True Detective Season 5 will premiere, but the fifth season of the show has gained traction in recent weeks. Over the summer, it was claimed that Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage is in talks for the primary protagonist in True Detective Season 5, although it is unclear who will play his sidekick.
