It’s no surprising news that Sydney Sweeney is starring in an upcoming thriller, “The Housemaid”, which is set to release on December 19, 2025. However, she has been presumably assumed to play the Bond girl in the next movie, but there has been no concrete evidence about the filming. She stated to Variety, “To be honest, I don’t know all the Bond rumours, but I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise, and I’m excited and curious to see what they do with it.”
When asked directly if she would participate in the next Bond film, which Amazon MGM will produce, Sydney declined to confirm or deny any possibility, just like a genuine spy. “I can’t…” “I don’t know…” she replied.
Denis Villeneuve, the forthcoming director of 007, apparently wanted her to have a role in the future flick, and her casting is said to have been at the behest of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who recently acquired creative oversight of the espionage franchise from long-time producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson.
An unnamed insider narrated to The Sun on Sunday newspaper, “Sydney is the top name on the casting sheet for Bond. Denis believes she is hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations, which is vital in modernising the franchise. They added, “They’ve hung out together a lot and he has admired her stratospheric rise. Plus, Sydney has the quality of being athletic and able to perform physical scenes, as well as being feminine and following in the legacy of the Bond girls.”
