Brad Pitt’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel has recently got an enthralling revelation. Although Quentin Tarantino will no longer be directing the forthcoming film, David Fincher has taken over the lead.

According to Variety, the sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, ‘The Adventures of Cliff Booth’, is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2026. Even though Fincher stepped in to direct, Tarantino was responsible for writing the script. However, given his initial ten-picture schedule before stepping down, he preferred not to make the sequel his last remembrance.

The subsequent comic drama began production in late July, when the first set of photographs was released. Filming has not yet been completed, but it is slated to wrap in mid-January. However, the picture is already slated for a summer release, particularly because Netflix is apparently planning a “more robust rollout” for The Adventures of Cliff Booth.

The streaming service used to be extremely stringent about its online distribution policies, but this has altered as it has released more award-winning movies. This fall, Netflix sent numerous titles for limited theatrical release, including Wake Up Dead Man, the third Knives Out film, George Clooney’s upcoming Jay Kelly, Kathryn Bigelow’s A House of Dynamite, and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.

Although Tarantino is still heavily invested in the production, having developed the script and executive produced, the Oscar-winning filmmaker appears unconcerned about what will transpire. This summer, he lauded the team behind The Adventures of Cliff Booth, particularly David Fincher, whom he dubbed his “favourite director”.

“I’ve got the best world,” he said on The Church of Tarantino podcast. “I’ve got Brad, I’ve got my favorite director, David Fincher, directing it. And I like the idea of David Fincher… I like the idea of any great, big director adapting my work.”
