Leonardo DiCaprio was supposed to feature in Damien Chazelle’s Evel Knievel biopic, but once DiCaprio left, the project collapsed. After that, Chazelle started working on another project right away. Cillian Murphy, Daniel Craig, Michelle Williams, and Mia Threapleton have reportedly begun filming Chazelle’s upcoming feature, an unnamed prison tale.
The majority of the filming will take place in the cellar of a former tobacco processing facility in western Athens, which has been converted into prison cells for this production. It will then temporarily go to the northwest island of Corfu and the Greater Athens area.
Paramount has set up this mid-budget “prison film.” Justin Hurwitz, Chazelle’s longtime partner, will provide the music, while Lol Crawley from “The Brutalist” will handle the cinematography. It is anticipated that filming will go on until June.
Chazelle’s earlier films include “Whiplash,” “La La Land,” “First Man,” and “Babylon,” which debuted in theaters in 2022. This will be his sixth feature.
