Disney+ intends to enable users to use AI to produce their own short-form entertainment. Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the organization’s 2025 full-year and fourth-quarter financial results.
He added that Disney+ is “in the midst of rolling out the biggest and the most significant changes — from a product perspective, from a technology perspective — since we launched the service in 2019.”
Numerous game-like elements on Disney+ will be a part of these updates. These are related to Disney’s agreement with Epic Games, which permits the usage of Disney storylines and figures on Epic’s website. However, AI is the major news. Iger claims that Disney+ will soon enable consumers to create and distribute their own short-form AI-generated entertainment.
He added, “The other thing that we’re really excited about, that AI is going to give us the ability to do, is to provide users of Disney+ with a much more engaged experience, including the ability for them to create user-generated content and to consume user generated content — mostly short-form — from others.”
Disney has had “productive conversations” with certain AI businesses, according to Iger. He thinks Disney can reach agreements that allow fans to enjoy AI tools while safeguarding its proprietary rights.
