Actor-rapper Will Smith is in the legal limelight due to a lawsuit. Will Smith has been accused of misbehavior related to his Based on a True Story 2025 tour by violinist Brian King Joseph. Variety examined court records and found that Brian has filed a lawsuit against Will and Treyball Studios Management, claiming unlawful dismissal, reprisal, and sexual misconduct.

Brian King Joseph stated that Will Smith initially engaged him to perform at an event in San Diego in November 2024. Later, the musician received an invitation to participate in Will’s 2025 tour in addition to contributing to the artist’s next album. According to the lawsuit, Will Smith said things like “You and I have such a special connection that I don’t have with anyone else” as they got closer.

The incident that reportedly happened during the tour’s first leg in March 2025 is a major subject of the lawsuit. The band and crew had hotel rooms set up when Brian King Joseph joined the group in Las Vegas. He says his backpack, which held his room key, vanished for a few hours until management gave it. According to the lawsuit, the “only individuals with access to [his] room” were management personnel.

Brian King Joseph claims that when he went to his hotel room that same evening, he saw evidence that someone was inside without his consent.

Paper towels, a bottle of HIV medication with another person’s name on it, and a handwritten message that said, “Brian, I’ll be back no later [sic] 5:30, just us (drawn heart), Stone F,” were among the items he claims were left behind. He claims he interpreted the message as an indication that “an unknown individual would soon return to his room to engage in sexual acts” with him.

According to the lawsuit, Brian King Joseph notified Smith’s representatives and called hotel security right away. Additionally, he called a non-emergency police line to bring attention to the situation. Despite this, he said that he was accused of fabricating the incident by a member of the management team a few days later. After that, he was informed that his services were no longer required.
