Karla Sofia Gascón is the most recent well-known figure to comment on the conflict between Timothée Chalamet and almost everyone who appreciates the performing arts.

Gascón posted an Instagram image on Monday that blends a photo of Chalamet’s Marty Supreme persona with her own from Emilia Pérez, giving the impression that they are conversing over the phone.
“Hola Karla, do u think they gonna make me pass the red carpet at the Oscars?” is the caption for the meme. — an allusion to the public relations disaster that the first publicly transgender Best Actress nominee experienced last year with the resurfacing of several controversial tweets from her X account.
Gascón offered her own remark to the Instagram Story. She penned, “Are you a Trans woman? Then don’t worry about it, Tim.”
She added an inscription of pink ballet slippers and said, “Besides, I love ballet slippers, and I’ve seen Phantom of the Opera ten times. Not sure if that counts for anything. Best of luck with the awards.”
Gascón contrasted her and Chalamet’s disputes in even smaller text below that. “Even though no one has seen or heard me say anything, while they have both seen and heard you, people still seem to prefer believing whatever the bad guys claim I said.”
Gascón earlier issued an apology for her since-deleted posts, which included offensive remarks about the COVID-19 vaccination, multiculturalism at the Oscars, the Black Lives Matter campaign, and George Floyd’s death. Gascón attended the 2025 Oscars event but did not walk the red carpet due to the reaction.
