Alongside writer Beau Willimon (Andor, House of Cards), Warner Bros. is formally working on a film set in the mythical universe of George R.R. Martin. The news was initially hinted at in an earlier headline-grabbing profile of Martin in The Hollywood Reporter, which said that dueling renditions of the story of King Aegon I Targaryen’s invasion of Westeros were being developed by Warner Bros. and HBO. The movie version is being envisaged as a massive, Dune-inspired theatrical film.

Page Six Hollywood was the first to reveal Willimon’s involvement. Given the studio’s anticipated sale to Paramount Skydance, Bros. is a little uncertain.

In response to a recent question about his favorite HBO series, Paramount CEO David Ellison mentioned Game of Thrones.

This is undoubtedly encouraging for both the upcoming movie and the numerous prequels and sequels that HBO has in the making.

The showrunners of the initial Thrones series, David Benioff and Dan Weiss, proposed to HBO the possibility of concluding the popular series with three feature films, similar to The Lord of the Rings. However, HBO rejected the idea, choosing to continue concentrating on its primary subscription operation.Wagner Moura has noticed the success of ‘The Secret Agent’ brewing some backlash back home
