Trouble for Lee Cronin’s The Mummy After Reports of Poor Test Screenings and James Wan Walkout

When it comes to horror films, James Wan is legendary. The movie seemed torturous for the renowned director to leave the theatre midway through. Lee Cronin directed the Mummy reboot.

Feature First has unveiled the synopsis of the impending horror revival, and it does not appear promising. The source claims that the movie centres on a family made up of two adults (Jack Reynor and Laia Costa), their daughter, and their son.

But after a woman curses the daughter, she disappears, and the family moves on. The girl is astonishingly still alive when her body is found in a sarcophagus eight years later. The report claims that a test showing of the movie did not go exactly smoothly with the audience. James Wan, the director of The Conjuring, even left the theatre midway through the film.

Lee Cronin has chosen to up the gore in The Mummy reboot. According to Feature First, there is a particularly graphic scene in one of the film’s scenes. The audience did not like this moment at all, as seen by comparisons to Bring Her Back and The Substance. The scene in question centres on a scorpion that enters a person’s mouth and cuts their vocal cords.

Reboots totally disregarded the essence of the original flicks. The Mummy Reboot is entirely different from the 1999 original Mummy film, even though films are becoming more contemporary every year.

The films starring Brendan Fraser were sleek and daring. It wasn’t very graphic or repulsive, but occasionally frightening. The film evoked awe and surprise, from the camel racing in the 1999 feature to Imhotep’s sandstorm in the sequel.
