Ethan Hawke boldly stated that he and renowned director Richard Linklater are already working on their tenth film together, and it will be excellent. Hawke hinted about what viewers may anticipate from the upcoming movie in an interview with Craig Melvin of TODAY.
“Everything has been in preparation for what’s to come,” he stated during the interview on January 7. “The 10th is going to be the best.”
“That’s a bold statement,” Craig said to Hawke.
Hawke refused to back down. The actor from “Blue Moon” stated that he wouldn’t be “shy” about his comments since he is confident in the quality of the movie. “I’m not even nervous about saying it,” he remarked. “We’ve been thinking about this movie since about 1998. He’s been thinking about it longer than that. He’s had this dream for a long time in his head, and it’s going to be good.”
“Wow,” Craig exclaimed.
“And I’ll be back on your show in about 18 months to back it up,” Hawke said. The film, which he acknowledged is a “period piece,” is likely to be released in 2027.
In the 1990s, Hawke and Linklater collaborated on the romantic drama “Before Sunrise.” Following that, they collaborated on eight additional films, such as “Before Sunset” and “Before Midnight.”
