Sophie Turner wasn’t among the many fans or even some members of the cast who were unhappy with how Game of Thrones concluded. In a recent interview, the actress—who most memorably portrayed Sansa Stark in the popular HBO fantasy series—disclosed that, although she was one of the few actresses to feel that way, she was ultimately satisfied with her character’s fate by the show’s conclusion.

Turner stated, “But I feel that I was very happy with the way Sansa ended her story in Game of Thrones,” in a recent interview with The Direct. “No one else was really happy with their ending.”

According to IMDb, the GOT series finale had the lowest rating of any of the eight seasons, and several of the primary characters met a disappointing end.

Regarding Turner’s character, however, Sansa Stark becomes Queen of the North at the end of the series, following its establishment as a separate realm. Isaac Hempstead Wright’s character Bran Stark, her younger brother, is chosen to rule the other Six Kingdoms of Westeros.

Turner commented, “I feel like I got a good one, and so I don’t know if I could revisit it,” as she discussed the prospect of returning to a GOT sequel, which she feels “would be hard but also amazing.”

Turner stated that to preserve the impactful resolution of her role, she would need to view a script before making any choices. “Maybe it would be an utter joy, or maybe it would be trying to cling on to something that was magic back in the day that can’t be recreated,” she said. “I would have to see a script.”
