Lars Eidinger, a German actor, will play Brainiac in James Gunn’s Superman and Lex Luthor film Man of Tomorrow. Brainiac, a well-liked Superman antagonist in the comics with Lex, will make his big-screen debut for the first time. Writer Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino devised the character, who first debuted in Action Comics #242.
Brainiac is an intelligent android from the planet Colu. He is determined to amass all of the universe’s knowledge. Deadline claims that Nicholas Hoult’s Luther and David Corenswet’s Man of Steel must work together to combat an emerging danger in the galaxy.
It wouldn’t be shocking if Brainiac were capable of destroying planets and shrinking cities. Superman’s native planet, Krypton, in the comic books, has been shrunk and, in certain plots, destroyed by the antagonist.
European award-nominated Eidinger has acted in several films, including Jay Kelly and White Noise, directed by Noah Baumbach for Netflix, and Clouds of Sils Maria and Personal Shopper by Olivier Assayas. For the film Dying, directed by Matthias Glasner, Eidinger received a nomination for European Actor at the European Film Awards last year.
Gunn penned on Instagram, “In our worldwide search for Brainiac in Man of Tomorrow, Lars Eidinger rose to the top. Welcome to the DCU, Lars.”
