U.S. President Donald Trump criticized actor-director Rob Reiner in a social media post on Monday that critics say was extraordinarily impolite, even for him, as Hollywood grieves the loss of the film and television star. Strangely, Trump asserted that Reiner’s death was caused by the rage he provoked due to his own “Trump derangement syndrome.” Reiner was an ardent advocate of Democratic interests.

Los Angeles police are investigating Reiner and his wife’s deaths as a possible homicide rather than a medical event. According to reports, the couple was fatally stabbed. “A tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Trump tweeted.
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness,” he stated on Truth Social.
Later, during a separate press conference in the Oval Office, Trump reiterated that Reiner was “very bad for our country.” “He was a deranged person as far as Trump’s concerned,” he stated, using a third-person perspective to describe himself.
Trump ally-turned-enemy Marjorie Taylor Greene is among those who have criticized the remarks, saying they were “tragically killed at the hands of their own son, who reportedly had drug addiction and other issues, and their remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak.”
