“This show was made by humans.” An unusual credit citing that no AI was used in the Apple TV show, ‘Pluburis.’ That brief statement, which is positioned directly beneath the statement that “animal wranglers were on set to ensure animal safety,” may serve as a template for future directors who want to emphasize that their work was produced without the use of generative AI.
In a Variety feature piece about the show, creator Vince Gilligan—best known for “Breaking Bad”—was even more adamant in saying, “I hate AI,” just in lest the disclaimer wasn’t plain enough. He continued by comparing AI-generated content to “a cow chewing its cud — an endlessly regurgitated loop of nonsense” and calling the technology “the world’s most expensive and energy-intensive plagiarism machine.”
The veteran “X-Files” writer returns to science fiction with “Pluribus,” which reunites him with Rhea Seehorn, star of “Better Call Saul,” who portrays a romance writer facing an apparent extraterrestrial menace.
