Frank Grillo is not going to back off at all; he is thoroughly unfiltered. In a recent interview, the actor was extremely open about his training, nutrition, and testosterone levels, which sets him apart from his Hollywood counterparts. When the topic of Hollywood body makeovers came up in an interview with Men’s Health US on Strong Talk, Grillo didn’t hesitate to break through the clutter about how these celebrities skilfully alter their bodies.
He artfully said, ‘They do it by, you know, taking Anavar and Deca and all the things that now are prescribable by doctors — which is good because at least it can be monitored by a medical professional,’ he says. ‘But none of those are natural bodies. Those guys don’t walk around looking one way like six months out of the year, and then all of a sudden they have 35 lbs of muscle on them. We all know what they’re doing. They might not want to say it, but they all do it. Everybody.’
Grillo doesn’t end his repartee there. Regarding his personal well-being, he acknowledged, ‘My testosterone is 260, and my doctor has said to me, “I’m amazed that you can still train the way you’re training at those levels.“‘ He discovered TRT as a result of that. He clarified that once his doctor informed him that his testosterone levels were low, he began testosterone replacement medication six years ago. He claims that it has made him feel happier, sleep better, and heal more quickly.
‘There’s nothing wrong with using those drugs,’ Grillo added. ‘But let’s be honest about it. That’s all. People will say – because I take testosterone – “You’re a cheater.” I’m like, wait a minute: I’m 60, and I train every day. I’m an actor. I’m not the linebacker for the New York Giants. I’m not a competitive Olympic wrestler. I’m not playing for the New York Knicks. I’m not cheating at anything except ageing. There’s nothing wrong with… you get the role in the superhero movie, and you want to look like a superhero, and you take some Anavar… god bless you.’
