Actor Ben Affleck recently addressed why he often looks upset in photographs during an appearance on Kevin Hart’s talk show.
“I’m a little bit shy,” Affleck explained. “I don’t like a lot of attention.” He said when people suddenly put cameras in his face, he reacts with a serious expression, leading to comments about him looking mad.
Affleck admitted he doesn’t mind being photographed at events or with his wife, Jennifer Lopez. However, he becomes more protective when his children or step-children are involved.
The Oscar winner also suggested that sometimes his face just naturally looks serious, even when he’s not upset. “I’ll be sitting at home, and they’re like, ‘What’s wrong?’ ‘Nothing. Nothing’s wrong,'” he said.
When Hart joked that Affleck might have “resting bitch face,” the actor playfully corrected him, saying he has “resting hard face.”
Affleck believes people’s reactions to his expressions online don’t reflect how he actually feels. “People are projecting something onto me that I don’t feel about myself at all,” he stated.
During the interview, Affleck also discussed his early career as a child actor and working with longtime friend Matt Damon.
The full interview can be seen on Hart’s show “Hart to Heart,” which airs weekly on the Peacock streaming service.
