Michael B. Jordan has provided an update on the upcoming sequel to the post-apocalyptic film “I Am Legend,” in which he will star alongside Will Smith.
In a recent interview, the “Black Panther” actor expressed his excitement about working with Smith, whom he has looked up to for a long time. Jordan stated that the project, titled “I Am Legend 2,” is currently in development, with the script still being worked on.
While there is no set release date or filming location yet, Jordan is eager to get in front of the camera with Smith for this sequel. He called it “something I’m really looking forward to” and “really excited” about.
The original 2007 film followed Smith’s character, Robert Neville, as one of the few survivors in a world overtaken by a virus that turned people into zombie-like creatures. It was based on Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel of the same name.
Smith had previously teased that the sequel will follow the alternate ending from the first movie’s DVD release, where Neville survived, rather than the theatrical version where he died.
With the script still being finalized, Jordan and Smith’s highly anticipated collaboration on “I Am Legend 2” continues to generate buzz among fans of the original film and the actors themselves.
