The Peaky Blinders actor and his spouse, Yvonne McGuinness, are parents to Malachy, 17, and Aran, 16 years old. Although there are rumours that Malachy once expressed enthusiasm for music, Aran has long followed in his father’s theatrical career. When Aran was eleven years old, he played the lead role in the theatrical production of Hamnet, which went on tour to Dublin, London, New York, Boston, Brisbane, and Hong Kong. Later, he co-starred with Emma Appleton from The Witcher in the movie Lola (2022); nonetheless, Aran’s most recent project will be his debut motion picture.
In the forthcoming movie Klara and the Sun, which is directed by Taika Waititi (the director of Jojo Rabbit and Thor: Love and Thunder), Aran plays Rick. The movie, which was based on the same-titled New York Times bestseller book, follows a robot girl created to avoid loneliness as she attempts to save a bereaved human household. In the movie, Aran plays with Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams. The Wednesday actress will play the role of robot Klara, a gift for Josie, a teen (Mia Tharia). Adams is the mother of Josie.
The father of the budding actor received an Oscar nomination for his performance in Oppenheimer. Regarding his nomination, Cillian Murphy expressed that he is not concerned about the outcome. “I genuinely don’t think about that,” Murphy said to the BBC. “It’s kind of wasted energy. I just feel so thrilled and humbled to be [mentioned] in the same breath as all those wonderful actors.” Murphy continued, “I know everyone says this, but you never go into making a film thinking about awards. That’s not what we do. It’s impossible to make a film that way. But, when a film connects with audiences like this particular one has in a way that none of us could have anticipated… it’s hugely flattering and hugely humbling and it’s lovely to see that.”
