Featured last month at a Chanel fashion show is Kristen Stewart. Thinking back on her tenure in the Twilight series, Kristen Stewart finds herself contemplative. Stephenie Meyer’s novels, the Oscar nominee portrayed Bella Swan in all four of the Twilight films, which catapulted her and co-star Robert Pattinson into global fame. In an earlier conversation with Variety, Kristen acknowledged that, in retrospect, she thinks of the movie as “such a gay movie.” She said, “I can only see it now,” to the tabloid. “I don’t think it necessarily started off that way, but I also think that the fact that I was there at all, it was percolating.”
Kristen added, “I mean, Jesus Christ, Taylor [Lautner] and Rob and me, and it’s so hidden and not OK. I mean, a Mormon woman wrote this book. It’s all about oppression, about wanting what’s going to destroy you. That’s a very Gothic, gay inclination that I love.” Kristen has been in a wide variety of films recently, such as the LGBT romance comedy Happiest Season, the Charlie’s Angels remake, the futuristic technology body horror picture Crimes Of The Future, and the Princess Diana-themed “fable” Spencer, for which she was nominated for an Academy Award.
