Speaking candidly about her current take on Hollywood, Angelina Jolie declares that, given the chance to pursue her acting career now, she might not decide to become an actress. In a discussion with WSJ Magazine, Jolie declared, “I wouldn’t be an actress today.” She went on to say that she would be employed in theatre rather than Hollywood. “When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much.” “Because I grew up around Hollywood, I was never very impressed with it,” she went on. “I never bought into it as significant or important.”
Jolie added, “It’s part of what happened after my divorce.” She indicated that she eventually intends to move from Los Angeles to her home in Cambodia. “I lost the ability to live and travel as freely. I will move when I can. I grew up in quite a shallow place. Of all the places in the world, Hollywood is not a healthy place. So you seek authenticity.” The Oscar-winning actress claims that her “closest friends are refugees” and that she is single with no social circle. Stating, “They are the closest people to me and my life, and they’re my close friends,” Jolie talked about how close she is to her kids. “We’re seven very different people, which is our strength.
In addition to filming the Maria Callas movie, Jolie is establishing Atelier Jolie, a fashion brand, and setting up shop in New York City.
