Meryl Streep and her spouse Don Gummer are said to have been seperatedfor six years. A representative for the Oscar-winning actor revealed the news to the publication “Page Six,” stating, “Don Gummer and Meryl Streep have been separated for more than 6 years, and while they will always care for each other, they have chosen lives apart”. Remarkably, Ms. Streep married her spouse in 1978, and the two of them had four children together: Henry, 43, Mamie, 40, Grace, 37, and Louisa, 32.
The couple’s most recent public appearance together was at the 2018 Academy Awards, according to Page Six. Because of her performance in Steven Spielberg’s “The Post,” the actor received a nomination that year for Best Actress. The love tale between the two dates back many years. Harry, her brother, introduced them in 1978. Ms. Streep was grieving the death of her late partner John Cazale at the time; he had died that year from lung cancer. That same year, Ms. Streep and Mr. Gummer tied the knot, and they have kept their romance private ever since.
In a 2002 interview with Vogue, Ms. Streep discussed her marriage and remarked, “Goodwill and willingness to bend – and to shut up every once in a while. There’s no road map on how to raise a family: It’s always an enormous negotiation. But I have a holistic need to work and to have huge ties of love in my life.” The couple has gone to many red carpet-events together throughout the years. “First, I’m going to thank Don because when you thank your husband at the end of the speech they play him out with the music, and I want him to know that everything I value most in our lives, you’ve given me,” the actress said in her speech at the 2012 Academy Awards, where she won Best Actress for “The Iron Lady.”
