Since the Halo video game franchise debuted on Xbox a little more than 20 years ago, fans have been yearning for a live-action adaptation. The renowned sci-fi first-person shooter series seems ready for adaptation, whether in the form of a film or a television show. Though there had been several attempts to get a Halo project off the ground, it wasn’t until 2018 that Showtime greenlit a ten-episode first season, which would inevitably be picked up by Paramount+ after being delayed yet more due to COVID.
After fans were given a long-awaited first look at footage from the show via a teaser trailer released during the Video game Awards event, it was announced that the first full-length trailer would be released on January 30, 2022. The collection’s official Twitter account has revealed a sneak peek at tomorrow’s highly anticipated teaser, which is set to premiere during the AFC Championship halftime show on CBS.
The tease is brief, but it provides us with another glimpse of Master Chief (Pablo Schrieber), as well as a glimpse of one of the planes in the sequence and a sample of Cortana’s voice (Jen Taylor). Cortana is a popular A.I. character from the franchise, and her physical look is likely to please video game fans. The tease provides the impression that the show is picking up on the same mood as the games, and that it will provide plenty of spectacle for viewers.
