Amazon has unveiled the title of their forthcoming Lord of the Rings series.
The announcement was accompanied by a trailer for the pricey series, which will premiere in September and last for eight episodes. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is the official title of the new series.
The eight-part Amazon Studios series began filming in New Zealand last year, but is claimed to have wrapped in December.
In November 2017, Amazon paid $250 million (£183 million) for the television rights to The Lord of the Rings. Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Joseph Mawle, Lenny Henry, Peter Mullan, and Morfydd Clark appear in the series, which is set to last for five seasons.
Many fans speculated after seeing the first image from the show that aspects of JRR Tolkien’s posthumous book The Silmarillion had been adapted
The introduction of the Trees of Valinor was the reason for this. The last light of these trees is captured in three gems known as Silmarils in Tolkien’s writings. The Silmarillion is centered on these gems. The title, on the other hand, appears to imply that the show will be set in Middle Earth’s Second Age.
The title’s announcement sparked a frenzy of enthusiasm on social media, with many people demanding footage.
In September 2022, Amazon Prime Video will release The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
