The third and final installment of ‘Magic Mike’ will reunite actor Channing Tatum and filmmaker Steven Soderbergh. The project, titled ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’, also brings back screenwriter Reid Carolin, who penned the first two films.
Set up at Warner Bros, the new film is titled ‘Magic Mike’s Last Dance’ and will premiere exclusively on HBO Max. Tatum portrayed the titular character, Mike Lane, in the 2012 comedy-drama movie ‘Magic Mike’, which follows the life of a male stripper and his life at the club, and reprised the role for the 2015 sequel ‘Magic Mike XXL’.
“There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of Magic Mike with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max,” said Tatum. “The stripperverse will never be the same.”
As the Magic Mike business has grown over the years, producers including Tatum and Soderbergh saw that there was still a strong appetite for the world of Magic Mike and began developing a story that would properly bring the film franchise to a conclusion.
We are so excited that Tatum is tapping back in along with so much of the original creative team behind the box office crushing original film. While there is no release date yet, we certainly would keep you updated regarding this.
