Angelina Jolie spoke up about her time working alongside Harvey Weinstein and then how she felt betrayed after Brad Pitt selected him. Jolie claims she met Weinstein at the age of 21 while shooting on the 1998 movie Playing By Heart in a Guardian Interview. Weinstein served as an executive producer on the picture. Weinstein was found guilty of rape as well as malicious sexual conduct in February 2020, during the #MeToo movement.
“I worked with Harvey Weinstein when I was young. If you get yourself out of the room, you think he attempted but didn’t, right? The truth is that the attempt and the experience of the attempt is an assault”, Jolie mentioned.
Remembering the incident Jolie continued,”It was something I had to escape from. I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny, my first husband, to spread the word to other guys – don’t let girls go alone with him.”
In 2004, Jolie and Pitt married. In 2016, Jolie asked for a divorce. Weinstein’s company co-produced Quentin Tarantino’s blockbuster Inglourious Basterds, which featured Brad Pitt. Shortly afterward, Jolie revealed that Pitt persuaded Weinstein to join Killing Them Softly as a producer. “We had a fight about it. Of sure, it was painful “, Jolie revealed, revealing that the actress chose not to attend any of the film’s press campaigns.
Weinstein had already been accused of sexually molesting and assaulting women by Jolie as well as other ladies. According to a 2017 storey by The New York Times, star Gwyneth Paltrow stated Weinstein sexually assaulted her. According to reports, Pitt approached Weinstein concerning the encounter, causing the latter to advise Paltrow not to discuss it.
