What begins as a little job quickly turns into a terrible, devastating trip as they both must travel from across the United States and rely on one another for survival.
Craig Mazin, the developer of “Chernobyl,” is slated to create and exec produce the show, together with Neil Druckmann, a screenwriter and creative director for said computer game “The Last of Us.” Carolyn Strauss as well as Rose Lam will also serve as senior producers as will Evan Wells, director of Naughty Dog. Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan of PlayStation Productions would also serve as executive producers. The pilot will be directed by Kantemir Balagov, with Jasmila Bani and Ali Abbasi also involved. The concept is in line between Sony Pictures Television and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Produced by PlayStation Productions, Word Games, and Naughty Dog.
At this point, no date has been set, but the HBO miniseries is expected to premiere in 2022. Additionally, even while the program is planned to reflect the narrative of the video game franchise, it will also include material from the game that was cut from the same.
