The production has come to a sudden halt after a positive test was reported.
The upcoming movie starring Tom Cruise of an action franchise, Mission: Impossible found it impossible to continue shooting in the UK after news of positive test was confirmed. A media person for the Paramount and Skydance production has officially confirmed that the production would not unpause till 14 of June 2021.
We have temporarily halted production on ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ until June 14th, due to positive coronavirus test results during routine testing,” reads the statement. “We are following all safety protocols and will continue to monitor the situation.”
Like many other Hollywood movies that were to shoot in 2021 Mission Impossible has also faced a lot of hurdles on the road to the screen. They were first impacted by the industry-wide shut down in the February 2020 (days before the film’s planned shoot in Venice) which were followed by a lot of starts and stops due to the violent pandemic.
The filming resumed in the fall as they continued to go about the world filming safety was faltered. The production was also delayed for about a week in October when approximately 12 people on set in Italy tested positive for COVID-19.
In December, an audio leaked of Cruise who was legitimately yelling at his crew members for breaking COVID-19 guidelines assigned to them.
This happened post the time when Cruise saw two of the crew members standing way too close to one another in front of a computer screen, he told them: “If I see you do it again, you’re fucking gone.”
The film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who previously directed “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation” and “Fallout,” and is very much set to return for a prearranged eighth film. Joining Cruise’s Ethan Hunt for the latest mission are franchise loyalists Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson. Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Hayley Atwell, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, Rob Delaney, Charles Parnell, Mark Gatiss and Greg Tarzan Davis round out the star-studded ensemble.
