Luca Guadagnino has started filming his next movie called “Bones And All”. This particular project is the director’s first one in the United States of America. The initial photography for the movie has also started this week in the Ohio Tri-State area. This project reunited Guadagnino with his old mates from old projects, “Call Me By Your Name” stars Timothée Chalamet and Michael Stuhlbarg and his “We Are Who We Are” cast members Chloe Sevigny and Francesca Scorsese. Along with them, there is filmmaker David Gordon Green, and “Suspiria” actress Jessica Harper, “Waves” Taylor Russell, Oscar winner Mark Rylance.
This movie is an adaptation of a novel written by Camille DeAngelis’. The legendary David Kajganich wrote the screenplay for this piece. The plot of this movie as told by the deadline is: “The film is a story of first love between Maren (Russell), a young woman learning how to survive on the margins of society, and Lee (Chalamet), an intense and disenfranchised drifter, as they meet and join together for a thousand-mile odyssey which takes them through the back roads, hidden passages, and trap doors of Ronald Reagan’s America. But despite their best efforts, all roads lead back to their terrifying pasts and to a final stand which will determine whether their love can survive their otherness.”
Guadagnino talks to deadline and expresses how divine he has been feeling to be working in the US and exploring unseen parts of the country on the go. He states how beautiful a couple of months have been for him.
As for reuniting with “Call Me By Your Name” Oscar nominee Chalamet, Guadagnino said how happy he is to include Chalamet in the project. Guadagnino said that the moment he read the script he knew only Chalamet would do justice to the role. At that time both of them were in Rome hence they met post covid and had a hearty discussion. Guadagnino expressed that he felt the Oscar nominee was a fantastic person to work with and how happy he is to see him soar and touch new highs. He also tells us that his role is very new for Chalamet as it is both endearing and heartbreaking!
“The truth of the matter is, my heart is still there, but I’m working on this movie now,” Guadagnino said. “And I’m hopefully going to do ‘Scarface’ soon, and I have many projects and so will focus on this side of the Atlantic and the movies I want to make.”
